My wife had ordered a Gigatent from yourdirectwarehouse.com which is also known as the SURGE RETAIL GROUP. When the tent arrived we realized that my wife had ordered the wrong tent. I called the phone number and spoke with the help desk Amanda and in the beginning she was very helpful. I told her of the mistake and that we'd like to return the tent for the tent we wanted. I knew that there'd be a restocking fee but did not know it would be that high since we were going to be exchanging it for another tent.
We had the wrong tent and I looked into shipping it back to this company but they never gave me the address of the warehouse to ship it to and they claimed that there would be additional charges we'd incur. I asked them to get back to me with the return code they were supposed to give us right away and let me know where to ship it. Meanwhile, I knew they were near Dallas, TX so I checked with UPS to see how much it would cost for me to ship the tent back to SURGE RETAIL GROUP. The cost came out to around $30.00 and I noticed that UPS was the shipper they used to ship the tent to us originally.
After 3 days they still had not given me an address nor return code. But they did tell me that I would be charged a total of $145.00. That would be on top of the shipping of the other tent and the cost of the tent. We would have spent over $500.00 for a tent that cost about $275.00 I asked what the charges of $145.00 were for since that seemed really high for a tent that costs $219.99. Through some more searching on-line I found another retailer is AWESOME to work with and they had the tent we wanted for over $100.00 less than what SURGE RETAIL GROUP was selling the tent for on their website. So we kept both tents now but have an extra.
The point of this situation is that SURGE RETAIL GROUP cares more about just making money than giving their customers what they need. Their customer service was the rudest that I have ever worked with in my life. Don't buy anything from this company because they are a complete RIP-OFF. Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
