I just joined Bally and I'm already regretting it. I originally signed up at the end of Feb and I hadn't planned on signing up that day since I had a free week pass but the roped me into it. I didn't mind because I planned on joining anyways. Anyhow they told me if I didn't have all the money right then and there i could put a portion down and come back within 10 days to pay the other part. So that's what I did.
So I returned to the gym a couple of days ago to put the second half of my initial fee down and i paid in cash. Then the girl who was setting up my account asked for my card. She said she wasn't charging it she just needed it so they could set up my automatic monthly payments and that my first payment would not be due until April 9.
This morning I check my account before I hit the gas station and low and behold my account is overdrawn. I look it up and there is a charge on my account for almost $200 from Bally. Now please tell me if I've already paid my joining fee and my first payment isn't until April why have they charged my account after the girl assured me that all she was doing was taking my account info?
I called them this morning and they give me this whole song and dance about how they don't have all of my info yet and they can't do anything for 5-7 days when they get all my info. Anyhow after all was said and done and I listened to them for about 40 mins telling me why I have to wait to get my account refunded I ended the conversation telling them that I was getting a lawyer because there are laws against charging someones account without being authorized to do so. It's called fraud, theft, stealing, bally!!!
