Deplorable Service - SELL EXPENSIVE HOCKEY SKATES, but not replacement parts for repairs Ripoff

Hello:

My name is Paul XXXXX and I purchased a pair of Mission skates (second pair) a few years ago from Charlie Pens of the Hockey Shack in Delaware, who now runs AHS hockey schools in Pennsylvania.

My problem is that my skate blade (size 272) has broken leading up to a tournament at Whistler Ski Resort, located in British Columbia Canada. What started off as a seemingly easy problem to fix has turned into a customer's nightmare. The local company that sells Mission Skates - Sportschek, no longer carries replacement parts (bases and blades) and had no suggestions as to how to go about locating them. I then proceeded to my local skate sharpener (Mr. Bruce McGill) of Bruce's Edge who contacted two Mission reps, "Ian" out of Mission Itech in Toronto, Canada and John Wornick (ex-Mission Rep). Both of which stated that in order to rectify this situation, I would have to change the whole base and blade. The time frame - 8 WEEKS! Furthermore, this steel is no longer offered for the "Size 272" blade. I later learned that Mr. Wornick quit representing Mission as a result of similar problems that occurred on a regular basis. How do you have the right to sell skates, yet have no solution to the problems that face hockey players.

I have since been spoken with representatives of Sport Mart, Offside Pro, Cyclone Taylor, Docksteader, Iceline, and discussed my problem with Charlie Pens of AHS Hockey and they have all said that (a) they do not carry this product anymore as a result of customer service OR (b) elected to never get involved with Mission to begin with.

In the end, I was forced to buy a new pair of skates - Graf 705 at a cost of $508 after taxes from Docksteader Sports in Surrey, British Columbia. Needless to say, my original Mission skates are in excellent condition and are sitting on the floor at Bruce's Edge while I decide what to do with them.

I expect mission to not only compensate me in some fashion for this deplorable service, but also make amends to all of those who have been faced with similar dilemmas.

For all of you out there looking to stay on ice, especially youngsters, please avoid Mission, or you will be forced to sit on the bench.

Thank you,
Paul XXXXX (LAST NAME REDACTED)

Paul
Surrey, British Columbia
Canada
