My daughter & her friends love the clothes at Hollister. My issue is that I hate going into that store! Besides the blasting music and cave lighting environment, the "sales" people are not really sales or customer service people. They should be sitting in the mall! I stood at the register as the only customer and had a big load to purchase. 3 "sales" people were at the register and my daughter & I just exchanged looks while all 3 just carried on as though we were invisible!
Chit chatting, flirting and I think staring at their phone?!?! With each other and I waited 5 minutes before anyone asked me if I wanted to make a purchase!!! No eye contact but rather googlie eyes at the young salesman, while the young lady rang up my purchases. When done, she basically handed me the bag and said, "thanks".
Wow! It's been a month or so since I took my daughter back to the Saugus, MA store. It all came back to me as to why I hate going to Hollister. Now I have a new reason why - the "sales" people don't want to be there or work. Hollister managers missed the mark by hiring 'anyone' as long as you look adorable. Don't you know that it is the parents who SPEND the $ for their kids. You need to cater to what parents expect which is customer service, lighting to see what you are actually buying and tolerable music volume!!! I am glad to see so many others have similar complaints. I do hope that the management team of Hollister pays attention to the "voice of the customer", rather than just look the other way while posting more messages on their phone.
