National Moving Network
Bait-N-Switch, Rip-Off, Confidence Scam

Same story as the others here, with memorable twists. David Lamondin was utterly reachable, at my beck and call, until I signed the contract and paid my deposit.
At that point, he literally evaporated. I used several excuses to bypass the vapid, brainless operator to get to his desk, and receieved the customary lip service before being transferred to Walter Sanchez, Customer Service non-provider extraordinaire.
Bottom Line: The weight quote was 2500 pounds light, the truck showed up 3 days late, they demanded a cash payment to complete the move when David Lamondin had assured me that my company could pay by check, and they broke more items, it seems, than they moved, and the movers did the packing!!!

These people are using the "Over Promise, Under Deliver, Hide behind the Contract" business model.
I was told the truck would be at my house Sunday by Lamondin, but the driver's work order clearly showed Tuesday, with no mention of Sunday. The movers (Progressive Van Lines) laughed and told me that National's weight quotes are ALWAYS way low because the price jumps from $0.416 per pound to $0.54 per pound if you're weight is over the quote.

Bid low on weight, get the business, and then get ghost when you call to complain.

But wait, it gets better, or worse, if you're the consumer.
Now you call Sanchez in Customer Service and he promises you a 5% discount. You say, "Great." and hang up. The movers, when told of this discount, say, "Call National, we don't give the discount." I call Sanchez back, and at first, he says, "I never promised you that." When I refer to my notes (Take notes people!) and remind him of the date and time of the conversations, he then says, "Mr. Martin, I told you that you needed to pay us in full to get the discount at the time of our conversation." This is a bold-faced LIE. Next, I remind him that I had to pay the carrier, not National, and he says, no you can pay us or the carrier. Look at every post on this site and tell me if you see anyone who paid National instead of the carrier.

Here's the bottom line: NEVER outsource your move through a 3rd party. Go directly to the carrier. National Moving Network is an internet menace.
