I am a member of the washington army national guard, recently deployed to iraq. I was deployed rather quickly so my wife had to handle our affairs by herself. She was given a copy of my orders to present to sprint to have my service put on their "military hold program", which, by the way, took 3 attempts at the local sprint store. Their "military hold" plan suspends my services until i return from combat, then in turn is reactivated once i call them. No strings attached???
Well to my surprise i come home, call sprint and informed that i no longer have my phone number, i also have had my account sent to collections!!! I have talked to 4 different customer service reps and have been given the run around. Each one has offered to erase the writeoff status, but have been given 3 different totals to pay to bring me into favorable status. But in turn i have to pay a deposit, activation and be assigned a different phone number. But when a verbal agreement was made with the phone rep, the store has no idea what i am talking about.
Some say yes the deposit has been waived but that i need to pay my original balance off first. I even had the last rep call my local store and inform them that we had reached a satisfactory agreement and to waive the deposit and activation fee. The store employee informed the csr that there was still going to be a deposit. But the phone rep did not tell me this. Sprint employees still will not recognized the fact that if they had put my account on military hold in the first place i would not have to get jag on their ass. They still will not take my account back from the collection agency, diversified adjustment services, which has been rude to me and have hung up on me, will not give me a supervisors name and number, or have their corporate bigwigs call me. Any other soldiers having this problem please comment or get in touch with me.
