Here's my review of Koblizek Siamese.
While I found Lois personable on the phone, I SHOULD have run away from the transaction with her. I am sharing my story to help others make more informed purchases.
In fairness to her, she is extremely knowledgeable about cats and Siamese cats in particular. However, I think she is blind to her own methods. The kitten she sold me was in my own description, feral. There is no better word for it since I do not believe the kitten was socialized either with humans or with the kitten's mother.
With no one to help her, it seemed a daunting task for one person to spend time and provide meaningful, loving contact with all the kittens she had. I believe the kitten I purchased was wild from the beginning. This is my third cat and while I called Lois to talk about the problems of the cat when he was very young, I believe she may have a flawed model. Maybe my other two cats were flukes, since I have never had any similar behavioral problems with them, but with hers its been a litany of behavioral problems around food and toilet—and the issues appear to be worsening.
In short folks, I believe she needs to either retire or limit the number of kitten litters her female cats are pumping out so that she can spend time with them and give the kittens some tender loving care that they each deserve. My cat had the appearance of a wild creature that would not make eye contact with me for months and ran from me like I had flames shooting out of my hair.
While I am no expert cat breeder, I would recommend that Lois think seriously about the quality of kittens she is selling to people and make changes to her business model. I also recommend that buyers consider the mental and emotional state of these kittens who are being raised in cages and separated from the mothers and not socialized adequately with humans.
I found Lois to be very defensive and quick to turn the tables on me to lay blame, so if you do have a problem with either her or your kitten, it won't end well for you, and you'll still end up asking yourself why you didn't walk away when she grabbed the kitten she was selling you as it tried and tear off, threw it in the cage and didn't let you spend a minute with it to see if it was "right for you". She seemed to be more interested in getting the upfront contract and then settling the financial matters. Bringing a kitten into your life is way more than just writing a check.
I won't go back, that's for certain.
