I unwittingly bought merchandise from Chadwick’s after the mother company had already filed bankruptcy. I read the biz pages and saw nothing about this over the summer.
I returned all of the items, and the customer service reps have told me repeatedly that they received the items, that the credit was recorded on 9/6, but that due to the financial reorganization, my credit would be on hold for the next 45-60 days and then hopefully would be resolved. Meanwhile they are still selling product. Absurd.
Here is one example:
Dear Sarah,
My name is Jenelle and I will be assisting you. Although I can confirm that your returns of $45.98 and $80.47 were processed on 09/06, I do not see the credit issued to your Discover credit card. The reason the credit have not yet been issued to your credit card is due to our current financial restructuring process.
We would like to apologize for the inconveniences you have encountered, and thank you for being so patient with us. Your frustration is absolutely understandable.
As you may know, we are currently undergoing financial restructuring. Unfortunately, this is what has been affecting your merchandise refund; however, the restructuring process is nearly complete and you will be contacted within the next 45-60 days with a resolution.
Once again, we sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you have encountered as a result of this issue and we promise to make it right.
