National Moving Network - Progressive Van Lines - AY Transport ripoff shabby service broken items lost goods Multiple Locations Florida

This move has been a nightmare. After getting quotes from a number of movers National Moving Network seemed to be the best price. Things were fine until the movers arrived on the day we were leaving Masachusetts for Utah.

AY Transport showed up with a contract for Progressive Van Lines. They charged me $650 extra for packing stuff that was already packed (i.E. Dishes in dish boxes, clarinet in case) under the guise that the boxes were too small. A week later they called and gave me my new total (1,000 lbs more than estimated) and told me to expect delivery in 7-10 days.

Matthew was my contact at national Moving Network. Although the paperwork (and he) said I could contact him at any time I was repeatedly denied access when I called to find out why my belongings had not arrived after 10 days. Sandra was dismissive and rude. So was her supervisor. Told me I was acting like a child when I got angry. Also denied any responsibility as NMN was only the "broker." Bottom line is that they refused to assit me in locating my goods.

I then started calling Progressive every day to find out if my stuff was on a truck. Theresa actually hung up on my once when I demanded to know what the delay was. Rosemary never returns her phone calls. She is allegedly the supervisor and I was unable to get above her.

Finally, I am informed that my stuff is on a truck and should get to me in a few days as thay have "a team of drivers." Not true! My belongings took 9 more days to get to me as they went to New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Ohio, and Colorado before arriving in Salt Lake City. Worse, yet, I was forced to take a day off of work and they never showed up!

When belongings were finally delivered (by the 2 person "team of drivers" only one actually unloaded the truck. The couch has a big puncture hole in it, boxes of glass bowls were so shattered they were totally unrecognizable, boxes labled "this side up" were dumped on the side, and appliance boxes had some how opened during transport and pieces were found in the truck and in other boxes. They even tried to deliver someone elses stuff to me.

Shabby work and poor customer service leave me with these questions and unresolved problems.

1. I gave a pretty detailed inventory of what needed to be shipped. How did they lowball the estimate so much?

2. Why was I not informed that Progressive would be using a different transporter?

3. Where are the rest of my belongings. The mover actually tried to tell me that they did not exist. I am missing office stuff, my husbands clothes, wedding gifts, photo albums, etc. Basically, stuff that is hard to identify and replace.

4. Where is the hardware to put my bed together? They took it apart...

5. How did they only break the galssware that is not replaceable?

6. How in the world did they break plastic drinkware. I'm serious - you need to stomp on this stuff.

As my belonings only arrived Saturday, I am at the beginning of this journey. As Rosemary at Progressive will not return my calls, I have to start with certified letters. I am more than happy to join any class action law suit.
