Lighthouse Newfoundlands and her "puppets" have been writing false accusations about other breeders for some time now and it needs to stop. Lighthouse Newfoundlands is one of THE WORST breeders EVER.
As for the saying "people living in glass houses should not throw stones", I suggest Lighthouse and her puppets stop talking about other places and defending her (as her BF who is a breeder did, and if you read his web site he is the total opposite kind of breeder than what Lighthouse is). I am a Newfoundland breeder and have people buyers from Ohio (and long time Newfoundland owners) who mentioned visiting Lighthouse and said the conditions were terrible. They said she would only let one or 2 dogs out and brought a young puppy out for the kennel building.
They said the dogs were a matted mess and she wouldn't let them in the kennel (any good breeder should let you see their facilities). They have now bought 2 Newfoundland dogs from me and are waiting for their third. They said they left Lighthouse and would NEVER buy a puppy from her. I have encouraged them to write to the AKC (being that she is a breed of "Merit" - which anyone can be, you just make sure all the puppies get registered yourself rather than giving buyers the papers making sure all puppies are registered). If being a "Breeder of Merit" means being like Lighthouse, no thanks, I don't want to be one! I have also had her buyers call me for advice on their puppies because she was difficult to talk to and would not help them after getting a puppy, what kind of breeder is that?
I am tired of these people (Lighthouse and puppets) trying to slam other good breeders' reputations. The breeders she slams all do health testing on their breeding dogs, vet and cardio checks on their puppies, does she? Look at offa.org and you will see many Lighthouse Newfs, but not many in recent years. They are setting themselves up for some major lawsuits. Ask ANYONE in the Newfoundland community (other than Lighthouse's BF of course) and they will tell you about her reputation. She has screwed over so many people and other breeders it is horrible. Many too afraid to speak up because this woman and her friends are CRAZY and will go to all lengths to try to ruin good people. Yes, KARMA will win eventually, but I hate it that it in the meantime so many good people are being hurt.
