Market Tech Media Corp. Is the biggest scam company EVER!
After a "pushy" to say the least, salesperson came into my buisness, I was offered a service of advertising on the back of a local grocery store of my choosing. I told the sales person I had to think about it over night but she insisted that if I went ahead and signed the contract and a pre-signed check that she would wait to hear from me the next morning... LIES!!!
I signed a contract... Which was I TOLD it was only for 1 cycle. I thought about the sale of the contract over night and decided against it. I then called the "sales lady" the very next morning to tell her I was not going to do the ad afterall. But was told she "overnighted" all the paperwork in already and I could not get out of the contract... SCAM! I was also told that I was NOT the only business on the tape but it ended up that I was the ONLY company on it. You can imagine how many coupons print out on a grocery bill!!! I had people coming in with 10 at a time wanting to use them. (Which I allowed) but in the long run... I LOST $15 per coupon and that adds up BIG time!!! I lost more money than the actual ad cost me!!!
Move forward a bit... I was just starting my business up and did not want the ad to run in the first place until a specific time and was told that they would NOT take payments out until the approved time. Guess what... They did it anyway. Big Surprise! After a rather nasty phone call to the headquarters I did get my money back right away. BUT the same 'salesperson" shows up a few weeks later and said she had "accidently" had my contract written up for a different grocery store than I had wanted and needed me to sign a different sheet of paper with the new location on it. She told me nothing had changed and it was all the same contract other than the location... Sooo... As a DUMMY, I just signed it and guess what... Turns out they changed it to 2 cycles which meant MORE money that I was not aware of!!!
Moving on to the NEXT issues... I continued to receive emails asking me to approve a NEW ad that was to be run and after MANY phone calls and EMAILS... I told them I was NOT signed up to do the 2nd cycle and was not approving the ads! I FINALLY after many phone calls... Got someone to call me back and after them saying I did have a signed 2 cycle contract and there was NOTHING I could do about it. I told them fine then make the ad only have MY info and business name on it... NO COUPON!!!
3 months for that cycle goes by and NO ad!!! Then I get ANOTHER email from this company asking me to approve a new ad which was the very same coupon I had told them NO to over and over again.
Now... As of yesterday... I go into my local grocery store and there I am. On the back of this register tape with that very same ad anyway. I called the company first thing this morning and LONG story short, they said they would pull the ad but I would NOT get another one printed and that I was just OUT of the money. Their EXCUSE was that they "prolonged" my start date and payments... Which is what the "salesperson" had said they were wiling to do for me IF I would just sign the contract with them.
After a HEATED telephone call with Michelle from Market Tech Media Corp, I was told by her "I don't care what you do or say". They already had a paid in full contract and didn't care what I did about it!!!
I would NEVER use this company again!!!
And as an update... My ad has NOT been pulled and the local grocery store told them that Market Tech Media has NEVER called them about pulling the ad!!!
