Adam Leitman Bailey's handling of my case was horrendous and in my opinion he is completely incompetent. He was surely useless! His advertisements are apparently for show business only and obviously to lure in unsuspecting vulnerable clients. That is exactly what happened to me. Adam Bailey reminds me of some weird Craigslist scam artist because of his elaborate websites and shoddy and inept legal service (if that's what you can even call it).
The case briefly: A man in my co-op was trying to take my apt in housing court under fraudulent conditions, by saying that my high end 1750sq ft apt was low income housing and that I moved out and sublet it. I hired Adam Bailey thinking that he would be able to fix the simple matter and then hopefully get the Supreme Court to order my co-op to get a management company since we don't agree on anything and have too much unbearable conflict. BUT, HIRING ADAM LEITMAN BAILEY WAS THE WORST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE!
Because of Adam Bailey's neglect and incompetence with a fraud housing court case with no documents submitted by other party, the simple housing court matter turned into a major three year ordeal and ended three years later with the JUDGE TELLING ME TO SUE ADAM BAILEY! Adam Bailey and the other crowd of incompetent attorneys that he had billing me never ever informed the court that the apartment was not a low income housing or that the proprietary lease was not signed! THREE YEARS LATER THE CASE ENDED BECAUSE THE PROPRIETARY LEASE WAS NOT SIGNED. WTF!
Upon hire, Adam Bailey asked for a retainer of ten thousand dollars and I did not have that amount of money due to working part time while working on on my PhD. I only had approximately eight thousand dollars in the bank and Adam Bailey said to give him the entire eight thousand dollars. He did not even give me a retainer agreement, but 4 months later he told the judge that he used up the money and that I did not have any more so he quit!
I actually believe that he was engaging in criminal activity because no attorney could advertise so extensively and be so completely INEPT and CARELESS! Not only did he do nothing for me at all, but he then charged me for two and three people at his firm and cost me thousands of dollars for nothing!!! AFTER HE KEPT ALL OF THE MONEY THAT I HAD, HE QUIT AND KEPT MY MONEY AND MY DOCUMENTS TOO!
Obviously I definitely won't ever use this firm or recommend him to anyone at all, but I really hope he goes out of business soon to save others from his terrible service and character! He's was completely useless to me! In fact, he made everything a serious MESS!!! I wish I handled things myself (pro se) I would have been better off!!!
I was better off doing the case myself since he took all of my money ($8,000) and left me alone anyway 4 measly months later.
Summary:
the case that i hired adam leitman bailey to do was botched by him so badly that it lasted three years. Adam leitman bailey did not do the bottom basic things that even an unexperienced new attorney would have sense enough to do. Adam leitman bailey never told the court that the lease for my co-op was not signed, nor did he inform the court that my co-op is not low income housing (as fraudulently indicated by opponent) and he also did not even answered the initial 30 day notice. Are you kidding me?
THE JUDGE AT THE END TOLD ME TO SUE HIM! I wish someone had warned me!!! What a slap in the face to me and the entire legal profession!!!
