I recieved a letter in the mail on afternoon from the "san lucia security company sa" stating that i had won a total of 615,810$ (six hundred and fifteen thousand, eight hundred and ten dollars). It said to contact a certain person imediantly to claim my winnings.
I called the international number and spoke with someone and they told me to fill out the letter of payment processing, which i did, and fax it to them and they would pick it up monday morning (because it was on the weekend when i recieved the letter). I did so and I called them back monday morning and they said they couldn't read the information I had sent.
I had resent it and then they had called me back at my residence and stated that I needed to western union money transfer them 1,470$ for European tax because I was not a citizen of Europe. I asked them to fax me a letter stating that this was not a scam, and it was a typed letter with a letterhead from the santa lucia security company finance department.
It was odd because I was suppose to wire the money to a "mary johnson" in spain, before i was to get my money. The man told me that as soon as i faxed a copy of the reciept that i had wired the money to him that the bank of spain would be contacting me to forsee my money go into my account here in the United States.
My father told me that something sounded fishy about it, and I agree'd with him. While I was trying to look up information on this, he got online and found out that this all was a scam.
The man had called me back after a few hours of when I never faxed him the copy of wire transfer and asked me if I knew how to fax. I told him that I had faxed the other things to him so apparently I did... And then proceeded to tell him that we found out that this was a scam, that it was fraud and he got very very hasty and angry. He kept wanting me to fax him a copy of the rebuttle online and I kept explaining to him that I didn't write it, that I had found it online here at the usacomplaints.com... And I didnt appreciate this because I was a new mother to a 2 week old son and that I was going to report him as well.
He then said "ok, bye" and I haven't heard from him again. When I told him of the scam and he wanted me to fax it to him, he kept saying "no one will ever call this number again if you fax it to me"... Weirdo People.
So please, don't fall short of this mess. This is a scam. True, Group Lotto is real, but if it's internation, be very very cautious... Even in the US... If you "win the lottery"... Get an attorney to look it over before you send any kind of information to anyone.
