I found this company by an online quote from billy.com. A customer rep named Scott called me. They seemed like pros. I was moving from PA to Utah. Their price was cheaper than doing it myself! I gave them a detailed inventory, set a date, and paid a $1000 deposit on a move estimated slightly under $2000.
A friend of mine at work gave me an article on moving scams. Where they quote low, then upon delivery claim you owe them far more and hold your belongings hostage until you paid. I tried to research the company and found no info on them. There were great reviews on their website, but I later found out they control the comments and can delete the ones they don't like. Like the comments I left.
I called other companies. Ones that were BBB accredited. Their estimates were three to four times higher. It seemed too fishy. So as not to arise suspicion I called my rep Scott and simply told him we had to cancel our move. Their policy guaranteed full refunds within 30 days of move date. I gave them five months.
Scott assured me my $1000 would be refunded. I knew credit card refunds could take a while so I gave it two weeks. No refund. I called Scott and he said he'd check in to it. He called back and apologized and said I'd have it in three business days. I waited. Nothing.
Finally I called him out on being a fraud. The company's website was built by a free site builder service. When you call they don't answer their phones, but someone calls you back right away asking "did you just call us?" I also called him out on my negative comments being deleted.
Finally I called my bank and filed a fraud report with visa. I saved all emails and info and had to fill out a form. The next day someone else from the company calls to tell me they can't refund my money unless I call visa and stop fraud charge. I said I don't think so. Visa credited my money back, and to this day it's been about five months and they've never refunded the money. These guys are frauds. If you pay them a deposit and can't get it back, even with a debit card; call your bank. All credit cards have zero fraud liability. Don't let them fool you like they did me. If the price seems too good to be true, it is.
