Tried to rip me off but did not succeed, recieved a letter saying that kids.com had heard about my daughter, BULL!

I like others recieved a letter saying that kids.com had heard about my daughter. I thought maybe they had because when I took her picture at Wal-Mart before they had said they would like to submit it for their picture in the store. So it seemed liable.

I called and had an interview on August 13 at 6:30 P.M.in the Chicago office. They to made it clear both parents had to be their. They to showed pictures laminated in a portfolio of kids they supposedly got jobs for. They said our kid could definitely make it.

He then continued on about the $595 for photos every six months for five years. We went in the other room to talk about it and decided we did not really have the money to put up at that time and then explained that to the man (who named himself as Larry.)

He then went into the post dating a check for $250 and then paying $100 a month untill it was paid off. He then let us talk again. We decided that we should look into it a little more before putting out that kind of money.

He then explained that if we did not do it then we would just go home and forget about it and that it would be best to get the process started right away since my daughter is 2 1/2 already. I said I would not just forget about that. He also said we probably would not want to drive to the city again.

I then told him that my boyfriend (my daughters father) drives right past their everyday to go to work and that it would not be a problem for him to stop by to pay the money. We also thought it was very weird that they claimed to be such a big management company but their office was three very small rooms and a small school-like desk with no computer. It was very suspicious. But anyways he preceded on to try to get me to do it. He said he would be in a different office all week and would not be their to meet with my boyfriend again.

I just knew from the way he was acting that it was not for real. Why was it so immportant for him to get the money right there and then? He told me I could call the BBB tomorrow to see if it was for real and that he was part of it. Of course he still wanted the money right then and there so that we already signed the "contract" and were stuck.

When he finally realized we were not gonna sign it he pushed me out of the door so fast. My daughter was in the other tiny room and he tried to push me out so fast that my boyfriend had to actually say my daughter is in the other room and he replied with "Oh - don't forget the kid" He grabbed all the papers out of our hands also.

We knew that if they believed my daughter had potential and they could do something for her (like make money for themselves) that it would have been no problem to take the paper home and think about it for a little bit. It would only be to his benefit if it was for real. When I got home I decided to look for something more on it and this is what I found! The writings I read were so exact to mine that it is so obvious what is going on here. The contract was so short and unexplanitory to me. It just seemed there should have been more to it.

Another thing is my boyfriend had said that when he was little his mother had a guy come to the house and do the same thing. They said they were managers and took pictures every 6 months for some outrageous amount of money and signed a contract that they could not get out of. "Larry" came back with "Oh-well I have never heard of anyone coming to your house to do this that was probably not legite." When I read some of these stories that is exactly what kids.com has done too. These people need to be put to a stop and suffer consequences also.
