I purchased 2 pairs of Alden's from Eneslow in NYC and added rocker soles and then later, a steel shank to both pairs.
Soon after my initial purchase, both pairs began to squeak. They "de-squeaked" them but the squeaks quickly returned. I have returned them 5 times to the store on Park Avenue in NYC. Each time another excuse is made and another attempt to de-squeak including returns to Alden. They have NEVER not squeaked. Today I picked them up again and was told that adding a shank causes squeaks 9 times out of ten. They refused trying again and now I am stuck with 2 very expensive shoes that both squeak. Clearly, I can never buy again at Eneslow.
But now I have read on the Alden site that ALL Alden shoes contain a steel shank. Either that is not true or I have been scammed by Eneslow.
