Worked for Designer Floors for almost 3 mo., during that time they held me back my paycheck and then failed to pay me for the last 2 weeks of working. All total owed me 3 weeks wages. Then they refused to pay me my commission (20%) on $40,000 of sales for the week. That would make my pay for the week $8,000 plus the 3 weeks withheld at $1,200.
They knew they could get away w/out paying me my commission and they even LIED to the State of Tennessee Labor Board. They also had a program of 30-60-90-day to 6 mo, & 1 years no interest payment on loans. They would get the loan approved and finalized without the persons approval. Especially if the person decided to go elsewhere for their flooring.
They would charge $5000-8000 or more to customers account. The customer wouldn't know anything about the charge for a long time and then they would just tell the customer "must be some kind of mistake w/the credit company. We'll take care of it", and do nothing. When then customer would call back, they would say "Its been taken care of any it will be corrected on your next bill". These people are really rip-off artists.
Their son is out on work release from Nashville city/county alcohol/drug release, but he doesn't come in and work. He's just"Outside"sale. Yea really outside. Have they got the city/county snowed on their son's rehab. Don't do business with them. They rip off contractors left and right. Suppliers watch out— They will say your carpet was damaged in shipping but was hidden or the wood was short (often shorted by them on purpose to get more from Mfg). Enough said if you do carpet, wood, vinyl, or ceramic tile in Nashville, TN. Beware of designer floors (rip-off).
