The Yellow Pages Network
YMG Publications Deceptive advertising, lured me into contract then tried to collect their "unpaid invoice" Internet

This company is just a bunch of scam artists preying on business owners who are busy making an honest living! Back in September a representative claiming to be from my local yellow pages called wanting to "update my listing information". The call was anything but, rather it was a ploy to send a big invoice for advertising that would never be seen by anyone in the markets we serve without my explicit consent!

When they called today (April 16) demanding payment for the $450 AD that I supposedly authorized back in September I promptly asked then to provide a copy of the WRITTEN authorization for publication or, at minimum a copy of the published AD - they could provide neither item.instead the representative played back a recording of the scandalous phone call they made back in September when they were "updating my listing info".

On the phone call I confirmed my businesses information (which was apparently the reason for their call) and then right at the end, after confirming my business address, they threw in (muttered under their breath) - "we'll just send that $450 invoice to this address". I never received said invoice nor have I received any email, fax, or US postal mail from this company... EVER!

I asked the man who called, Michael Stevens at ext 618, if he could provide written contract or agreement or could tell me where I was advertised for this now $798.34 that I apparently now owe them. Michael kept insisting that "it's a state-wide publication, " mind you I was unable to find any reference to my company in my local AT&T or Verizon phone books or even on their own website (see link below).
Search for my company on theyellowpagenetwork.com

Why would I pay a company for doing NOTHING they said they were going to do for the money they are trying to charge me?! This is ludicrous, a scam, fraud, and attempted extorsion... They MUST be stopped!
