MWI Connections Plus charged my check card for $249.95 on July 29. The only reason I noticed the charge was because my checking account had gone into the negative due to their charging me, and the bank charging me for overdraft protection. I also had another overdraft charge because I puchased something while in the negative.
I've never heard of MWI Connections Plus so I gave them a call this morning. The lady on the phone, Kim, told me the $249.95 was my membership fee. I asked what the membership was for, she told me it was for one of those large coupon books with over $3000 worth of savings at retail stores, movie theaters ect. I asked how I was signed up for this service and she told me the I CALLED THEM, and requested their service. I've never even heard of MWI Connections Plus let alone how they got my check card number.
I asked Kim, who was very nice on the phone, if I could have a refund since I did not want their service. She said yes and that my account would be credited in 2-3 business days. I'll keep an eye on my account to see if the money is there by the end of the week and update my report. Now all need the $60 in overdraft protection fees that this caused.
