I'm going to try to agree with Timothy from Rhode Island a bit, in regard to TAXI MUSIC SERVICES; I'd like to know how to contact him because he might be suffering from what I have experienced-but there's no way of KNOWING actually, if HIS complaint is legitimate (to my mind) until I get a chance to actually HEAR what he has submitted T O Taxi Music Services. I found the personnel to be extremely helpful, usually—I understand they are getting a fee of $300 per year... That, in itself, I thought to be a bit steep-but my co-worker paid it; Then the problems began. You see, I have no problem "understanding" a good song—after haviing worked as a singer in nite clubs and hotel lounges via LA to Santa Barbara-to Colorado-to Pennsylvania... (wherein they paid ME the $300, to listen to MY music-and often gave me free room and board and ammenities too...)

I have to say, that I'm a bit upset with the ONE or TWO basic "principles" or lack of principles they seem to represent.
One. When you pay and pay and pay $5 over and over, to submit the SAME EXACT SONG/RECORDING, and still get no INFORMATION back from Taxi-or the "so-called producer" looking for the song-it bothers me. I'd really like to know, that if MY song is not"good enough".. Then, whose song, actually WAS good enough—whose song WAS CHOSEN AND PURCHASED AND WHY? I'd find that extremely helpful and interesting. All I am told that is, my specific song submitted, "did not please the producer"... Well, then, WHY DID MINE NOT FIT THE CRITERIA? I'm usally told
and this is PART B. That the song was " not BROADCAST QUALITY".. FUNNY part of the contract agreement is, I NEVER SAID I WAS. Writing and RECORDING "BROADCAST QUALITY" songs. I said I was a 'SONG-WRITER"... Wondering, how the words in their contract got manipulated to actually mean, that "unknown songwriters" really are not going to 'become heard".. UNLESS THEIR RECORDINGS ARE TOP NOTCH STUDIO RECORDINGS? Had i the funds to re-record three hundred songs in a great studio, i wouldn't need taxi-i'd merely record really well, "broadcast quality" twenty songs, and go sell it??? BUT BEING AN UNKNOWN WRSITER, AND REALLY MERELY WANTING TO "SELL ORIGINAL MUSIC" seems to be impossible, through Taxi.
We submitted three songs one time to an AD that said "Loretta Lynn" type songs, make them "like songs from the 60-s"—Gee, I EVEN RECORDED THE THREE SONGS "IN" the 70-s and the public used to beg me to "sing it again-sing the song abut the Same Old Town, that SOUNDS JUST LIKE LORETTA LYNN"... And they were refused, because "they said" they were "recorded well-we like the singer) that's nice to hear—as it was me, singing—then THE THREE SONGS, THAT MADE ME MONEY IN THE EARLY 70-S BECAUSE HOTEL MANAGERS AND THE HOTEL VISITORS AND FANS AT THE HOTEL LOUNGES even CALLED these songs "the Loretta Lynn" look-a-like songs"... ARE REFUSED WITH NO OTHER EXPLANATION? (AND SINCE I'VE SENT THEM TO OTHER ADS, OFTEN, THEY'RE COSTING ME $5 PER SONG FOR THEIR REFUSALS)

It appears to me, that the company named "taxi" is not in the "business of just taxi-ing music".. They're in the business of "providing very finished expensive demos/or "finals" if you please..." for their "friends in the industry.." who are producers who don't want to spend time "doing the recordings $ themselves" so. They're trying to make "us" do it. "us" being the song-wrsiters, who admittedly, really might not want to become recording artist or " music acts"... And at our expense... Are "providing this product" to their buddies who want the "finished recording.

Frankly, as a song-writer, and not a bad one say many of my fans who are not personal friends and even former employers... I feel my time can be better spent, writing, than "recording" and "re-recording" and "re-sending" final recordings to taxi's friends, the producers.

It sort of also upsets me as used to the good old boys in nashville (some of whom i dated back in the 80-s)... They said "why "buy from an unknown, when you can scratch you buddy's back and pay them for the new song...

Now i'm wondering if taxi "producers" who utilize the "taxi" service... Aren't simply handing "my work" over to "their friends" to refer to—even to"re-wrsite"? Why not? It's a reward your buddy business, regardless of the "quality of the song"...

One critquer at taxi told me my verses and choruses weren't correct; then i remember the song by anne murray.."you needed me?" they repeat the chorus only twice, and not after each verse; and it was a hit; so where are they getting these so called "rules" of writing from?

By the way, fred and i are going to put "get it together this christmas" on soundclick, for "next christmas"... And "the wretch like me"... I wonder if anyone has heard a well thought out "country duet" in the past five years? Course, i wonder if anyone who has a great studio, wants to co-wriste, too. Because it doesn't seem the quality of the "song" they're interested in-just saving the producers money on the "recordings of the songs they're going to buy.
I welcome timothy of rhode island; please send me an mp3... I'm [email protected].

THERE'S SOMETHING FISHY about this incessent need to receive BROADCAST QUALITY... AND A GOOD SONG IS A GOOD SONG, IS, A GOOD SONG...

Surely it can 'sound better" with a fifty piece orchestra; but then, a bad arranger, is a bad arranger, is a bad arranger too.

We love what we do, and we think it shows "broadcast quality" may come, but at that point, we'll be the producers.
