National Moving and Storage Company
Not to be confused with company of same name that is based in Las Vegas. Unprofessional and criminal company that the BBB gives an " F" rating!

Lying is this company's game. First, they tell you repeatedly, by phone, that you will be billed by the poundage. They show up, as they did with us and others whose reviews we read (contacted after we were ripped off), and the supervisor, "Ben", in our case, tells you the charge is by the cubit feet—NOT by the pound. We had weighed our items which were under 2,000 pounds, the limit given for the price estimate we were given. Then, he "eyeballs" what you have and makes an estimate on cubit feet on the spot. All this is done AFTER you have already paid your $300 deposit way ahead of the pick-up date. We were overcharged by about $250 with their inflated cubit foot charge, as we measured the space used when the truck showed up - 10 hours late, in pitch dark!

Awful customer service is their game with the people too. They yell at you, shift blame towards you, and insist you have to go through their "3rd party which takes 90 days" to "look over" your claim. Meanwhile, they don't return your calls, and act all insulted when you tell them and back up with photos, the damages THEY CAUSED with their highly unprofessional "crating" job on your pieces that they require an extra $200 per piece. BOTH our heirloom pieces were damaged with their unprofessional "crating" which consisted of pieces of cardboard, lightweight plastic wrap, and a thin blanket that covered just half of each item.

Highly unprofessional, shoddy packing: Awful... The grandfather clock pendulum was outside of the wrapping. A large component to the clock was shorn off during the move, and the heirloom clock is now in the shop. The piano keyboard wasn't even covered by the pull-out cover, exposing the keys. The piano legs weren't even individually wrapped but placed within the "plastic bag" which caused them to rub against the cherrywood base and scratched it up. No protection whatsoever. The wooden globe stand was broken in pieces, and a metal lamp stand was broken too. A quality leather recliner had strapping tape applied directly across the front base piece to keep thin plastic wrap and a thin blanket in place, taking off the leather sheen when we carefully unpacked our once-beautiful leather recliner that was my father's.

Criminal with the overcharge, damages, lying, and the worst customer service I've ever observed.

Unprofessional with the phony "door to door service" to be delivered, in their words on the contract, "without a scratch": We got our goods about 10 hrs. Late, in pitch black darkness, except for the flashlight I held for the lone driver&who said he was a "3rd party" that said we had to take up our complaints with the company, and the company tells us we "have to go through a 3rd party" to file a complaint! How bogus is that?! A run around with this 3rd party jive. During the off-loading, which came 1 week after the initial pick up in So. California, and 10 hours late... We had to help the driver unload the sofa, piano, and grandfather clock. If my husband wasn't home, there would've been NO WAY the driver could unload these items by himself. Like I said, this had to be done in pitch darkness, save a flashlight!

First names only at this company. They never would give a last name. You may talk with Jonathan, Ben, David, Jason, and I can't remember the other names&but no one seems to have a last name! The one helper that driver Ben had didn't speak a word of English.

My advice? Run from this company and report them. Call the BBB and the Dept. Of Transportation who you can file complaints with. Whatever you do, don't let them step foot in your home or business. They talk over you, talking fast, furiously writing away on invoices where your carbon is barely legible, and act bothered when you want to observe the packing or ask a question. It's hurry, hurry so that you don't catch them mishandling YOUR GOODS!

It's too late for us, so we warn you&lastly, don't confuse this fraudulent company with the reputable National Moving and Storage Company of Las Vegas, NV, who enjoys an "A" rating from the BBB. I wouldn't be surprised if the crooks a the L.A. Based company of the same name, chose their name so they "would look good". Not. Jonathan, Ben, and company are crooks!
