I placed an order online with Vintage Hockey Classics in May to have custom made Winnipeg Jets Jersey. Once I submitted my request, man who went by the name James Hiem called me in about 30 minutes. He talked forever and seemed friendly and knowledgeable, so I decided to take the risk and send him money via PayPal. He said it would take about 1-2 months to make my jersey. It is now March 16th and still nothing. He doesn't return my calls or emails anymore and I've been in the dark waiting and guessing for at least 5 months. His phone number keeps playing an automated message saying that the number I dialed can no longer receive messages. He used to answer my calls, but the more suspicious I became the less responsive he was.
When I did have a chance to speak with him he kept giving me excuses as to why he couldn't just check on the order status for me. He kept blaming his suppliers and said it was too complicated for him to call and find out the status of my order. He would say things like:
"my suppliers only do email, they don't like phone calls"
"I just wait for boxes to arrive, there's nothing I can do"
The guy just kept giving me evasive answers and wouldn't help. This seems like the perfect crime. Delay and make excuses until the PayPal 45 day dispute policy expires and so there is nothing I can do now except try and fight it with my CC company. That's not an option anymore, but contacting the Tonawanda Police Department and showing proof of my order is.
