Jet Van Lines
NOT to be trusted! Watch your wallet!

Do not use Jet Van lines! They are Not trustworthy! When obtaining our quote, we enumerated every object—big and small that was to be moved. We boxed all ourselves with the exception of a few items. We received a quote from Josh of $491. We paid them a $100. Deposit which they processed the day we received the quote. The movers arrived 3 men in an enterprise truck at 11:30 am. The driver said-"no way will we be done in 3.5 hours." I ask, "How come your company told us 3.5 hours?" He replied, "They're salesman."

At around 5:45pm we head to the storage unit. We arrive around 6:35pm and two of the guys begin unloading and the third goes to his truck to work on the bill. We're doing the math and figuring the cost to be 6.5 hrs an hour for travel. So, around $600. The driver comes back and tells us the cost is $1274.50!! What? Well he says, "we have to charge you for boxes...$250" What! Okay but even with that outrageous charge it should be at most—$865.? Well, he says, "Company policy—the way they want me to do it-we have to charge you for 11 hours of labor." What?!!

I give him my debit card. He leaves goes to his truck and comes back on the phone saying, "Your card is refused" We're suprised—so I say"try our new adress" He leaves comes back hands me the phone. Juan (his boss) is on the other end—he says, "Sorry, your card is denied. The message I get says, "Denied by issuer"

Now its after 7pm. I call a friend who runs to her bank and drops off $1200. Cash. I get back to the unit and my disabled husband who is awaiting a double organ transplant) is beside himself and says, "The driver just came back and said his boss (juan) told him to load our stuff back on the truck!"

I hand him the $1200. Cash and tell him—"Not a dime more and this better not be a scam to get cash"

When they had dropped off all—the driver tells me he feels bad and wants to lower the bill to $960. And hands me back $240. But he says, "I am out the cost of supplies" So, I hand him back $50. Paying them a total of $1010. Plus $100 deposit = $1,110.

We arrive at our sister and brother-in laws house to stay the night. The story of our nightmare with Jet Van Lines is told.

We awake Sun. Morning and our brother-inlaw who is a journalist mentions he was so upset with the treatment we received that he is considering letting his readers know. He told us he had sent an email to Jet Van lines. After they leave for church, we use their computer to check our account—there is a debit of $1274.50 to Jet Van Lines! We contact Visa's fraud dept. And they said-it appears to have been "reversed'"

Monday morning, I go to my bank. I sit down with an account rep and tell her the story. She says. "your card was approved on the first swipe -Sat. Evening at 6:45pm." She tells me —it was never refused. She says, if the Visa fraud says it is reversed—maybe they did so after receiving your brother-inlaws email? She says the funds will be held until Wed. At that time we'll see. But she reitterates—the card was Never denied.

I call Jet Van lines and try and speak to Josh who gave the fraudulent quote—but he cannot come to the phone. I speak instead to Juan—who says they haven't taken the funds and the card was refused. Hmm who to belive??? Jet Van Lines or my bank??? I can't even access the funds—they are still debited to Jet Van lines in the amount of $1274.50.

The discussion gets heated and Juan hangs up. I call back and he says, "Just forget about the $1274.50 you'll see on Wednesday that we're not taking that money. I will go speak to the owner and see what we can work out." He comes back on the line and says, "We want to credit you $82. But you must first sign a release agreeing not to "publish" anything." I reply—"I am going to talk to my husband-this move should at the most have been $600 or $700 dollars. We cancelled another group that had moved us before for $680. We cancelled them becuse we believed your quote!" On that Wed. The $1274.50 was returned to our account. The move given a quote by them of $491. Cost us $1110. And a great deal of anger and frustration over the treatment we received. Well, as the filing of this report shows: we decided not to be "bought" by Jet Van Lines but rather hope making our experience known may spare others from making a dreadful mistake and getting involved with this company.
