No communication, failure to honor Groupon Internet

My complaint is similar to the others. I have never filed a complaint with complaint before, and it took this company to compel me to create an account.

I attempted to redeem a Groupon with them last Fall for spices and paid twelve dollars over for the spices that I wanted. Like the other person lodging the complaint, I did receive notice in November that the company was delayed, and I was all right with that.

On January 13th, I received notice that my order had shipped. I never received the order. To give the company the absolute benefit of the doubt despite months without communication, I did lose my previous home to a fire but all mail was forwarded, so if the spices had been sent there, they *should* have been forwarded to the new address. I contacted the company via email to ask them about the shipment and to let them know that there could have been an issue with an address change.

When I received no answer, I attempted to call, only to be forwarded to answering machines. I have attempted to call their main number on four occasions with no answer. I resent the email request two other times without answer before adding "Better Business Bureau" in the subject line.

*That* prompted a quick response that I should have contacted customer service (at what address?), that the owner, Laura, had not been able to keep up with her email of late (for over three months?) but that she would look into it the next day. That was the first contact after a month, and that was now at a week with still no answer. The company has been advertising that they are selling Groupons again, despite still not having honored those from last year.

I would avoid this company in the future. There are other websites that sell quality spices that ship them and have far better customer service. Even if the delays are not deliberate, it is indicative that the company is absolutely ill-equipped to deal with its customer volume.
