My husband was approached by one of the sales people tonight at our home. He was given a description of what company the girl works for and what the "fundraiser" was. He came to me to ask about getting the subscription, I told him to tell her to come back later.
She came back and we looked at the list. My husband picked out one magazine that he wanted and she wrote it down. I finally decided on one and she told me that if I picked one magazine then she could get me the other one for free as a complimentary one. While ordering, she noticed that her ride was going by our house.
She said "there goes my ride, let me tell them to stop." I happened to look up and noticed that there was a Florida license plate on "her ride." A couple minutes before that she told us that she lived not too far from us. Which also made us suspicious when she asked if we were still in Warren, and it striked me as odd since she just told us that she lives in the area.
We got three subscriptions totaling almost $55. For some reason after she left, I had a gut feeling to check out the company online. And low and behold up pops this website with it being a scam and a rip off.
We will be putting a stop to the check and not getting the subscriptions. If we would have gotten the company name when she was here the first time, we could of saved us the hassle of having to spend money to cancel the check. But we now know for future references that we will NOT be dealing with them at all.
