As Seen on TV I bought an item, returned to the store to return it (with the sales receipt) and the clerk refused to accept the return saying "All items on sale are non-returnable" He would not even allow an exchan

My husband bought me a Christmas gift from the store, it was an exercise device.
I didn't think I would like it, so I took it back to the store with the original sales receipt.
The manager said they would not accept it because it was on sale.
He said it was outdated and nobody liked it so they wouldn't take it back.
He would not even let me exchange it for something else.
When he sold it to my husband, he never mentioned anything about the sale being final.
