When i first contacted citizens bank (steve menozzi) i was told there would be NO PROBLEM in getting me a mortgage loan. That he was familiar with my construction employment background. (occasional lay-offs)
he proceeded to give me pre-qualification letters for the amount of the house (s) we were interested in. 4 or 5 different ones, up to $225,000. We finally tired of seeing only short-sales and foreclosures, so we decided to have one built, for $192,900. He made sure he got my credit card info to charge the $350 app fee. He talked to my builder, and said everything was good.
After a few months, with the house almost complete, i was told the loan was NOT APPROVED. So, i gave him the benefit of the doubt, and let him re-package the loan with different criteria. HE TRIED TO CHARGE MY CREDIT CARD AGAIN! It is obvious this person will tell you whatever you need to hear, to get your application money. I believe he is TOO BUSY running his junk-mail printing company to devote any time to really researching the loan applications he receives. If he had ANY TYPE of moral spine, he would at least, refund my application money.
