I two fell for this scam. The news reporter appeared to be from a legit newspaper and hawked the benefits of winning things at auction on xbids.com. It appeared that I was signing up to use PayPal but they deducted the $75.00 immediately from my credit card.
I gave up after trying to win a few auctions. When I called the number on my credit card, it says that all business is handled at their website, xbids.com. That website is no longer there! They are probably doing business under a different name and getting more unsuspecting people to take advantage of.
Very bad experience.
