On December 8, American Portable Mini Storage, Inc. Delivered Unit No. 118 to my residence. Between that date and December 15 family and friends assisted me in moving my possessions into the storage unit and on December 15 the unit was picked up. During the pick-up of the unit the driver sold me a lock for the unit and assured me that I had the only keys.
In late I returned to the Columbia area to retrieve my belongings from American Portable Mini Storage. My son and I met Dalton Davin at Americans storage site in Jessup, MD to retrieve my belongings. At the time Mr. Davin stated he did not have a list of customers and their respective units and my son and he would have to look for the storage unit by unit with the similar lock that was sold to me by their driver. When they could not find any locked unit that fit the key, Mr. Davin used a tool to pick the locks of each storage unit, but upon opening and reviewing the contents of many storage units they concluded that the items that they had picked up from me and for which they received payment to store, were no longer in the possession of American Storage. Mr. Devin stated that certain of my possessions had been thrown away, without any explanation or any accounting of the items.
On March 01 the District Court of Maryland for Howard County entered a judgment in favor of me for this event.
It is my contention that for the security of your belongings that you place your belongings with other than American Portable Mini-Storage.
