I had planned a fun day of shopping with my two youngest girls. They were told they could pick any 3 outfits they wanted, anything, sky’s the limit. They were stoked. Hollister was where they wanted to go. My youngest was interested in a pale blue stripped skirt. I asked the sales associate where these skirts where located, she said she believed they sold the last one. I whispered to my daughter don't worry we can travel to the Tacoma store tomorrow. I went over to the manikin, to look at the skirt to make sure if there were short sewn into the skirt as it was pretty short. Immediately the sales associate screamed at me in a very loud and inappropriate tone, you can't take that off the manikin, you can’t buy that!!! I poked my head around and look at this associate for a moment and then decided to match her volume and say "is it ok if I look at it?" She rolled her eyes dropped her jaw and said in the snottiest tone I could imagine, "yeah sure!" I continued to look at the skirt and to my astonishment (with both my girls standing right by her) she had the audacity to say, "what a bitch!". I literally lost my breath. I could not believe what I just heard and the look on my girls faces. I knew they would be watching to see my reaction and how I would conduct myself. I walked away and went to the checkout counter and asked if the store had a customer comment card. The attendants said they didn't think so. I then asked who the manager was and they said Travis. I said may I have Travis' phone number. Just then a young man came up and gave me a card with a web address. I thanked him and ask if he would please write the managers name and number on the card and asked if he could please spell the attendants name properly for me. He said he was the manager in the store at the time. I said well I think it is inappropriate for your staff to be calling the customers bitches. She said yes it is. That was it. No apology. No let me resolve the situation. Nothing, he handed me the card. I checked out and headed out of the store, on the way out this same attendant (now with several others gathered around her watching) sneered at us as we left. We almost made it out of the store when this attendant said "wow I am so glad I am not those kids!", just in ear shot of my girls. I continued out of the store and asked the girls if they would wait outside for me. I went back in the store and how dare you, I can't believe you would say something like that. I continued to say, some day you will grow up and realize, but didn't get to finish my sentence before she interrupted me to say "some day you will grow up". I said that is enough, and went to the back of the store to request assistance again from the manager. He came out and said he was in the process of writing her up. I explained that the situation is not controlled, you can write her up after you control her current behavior. You need to come to the front of the store and get the situation handled. He came to the front of the store, and I asked the girl if she planned on apologizing for her behavior? She said she would if she had said anything. I looked back at the manager, who stood there awe struck, doing and saying nothing. I said I can't believe how you are being allowed to treat customers and turned to the manager and said and you stand there and do absolutely nothing. I relized who was in charge in that store. And then I left. It ruined our day. We were done. I took the girls for ice cream. But I will never get the day back.
