We were pressured to lock in their rate and make a reservation on 12/06/01. After we found a better deal, we cancelled the reservation on 12/07/01 at 12:30pm. Their representative, Milton, confirmed that my card had not been charged yet, and would not be charged. Milton also said that if by mistake it did get charged on 12/07/01, that a credit would be issued within 5 business days.
On Monday 12/10/01, $941.80 was charged to my card. Then we received a call to say that it would take 15 business days to get a credit. When I called to talk about this, I was transferred to the voicemail of Ken. I left a detailed message and asked him to call me back. It's 5 days later and still no response. Every time I call, I get transferred to Ken's voicemail.
While this is not technically a rip-off, because I will be creating a dispute with my card company and I will get my money back, people need to be aware that their no-charge/refund policy varies depending on who you are talking to and that they have a problem responding to you after they have your money.
