The estimate for the move of our three bedroom household included one hour travel time, 3 free wardrobe boxes, an over the cab storage truck and three movers.
The movers arrived on time in a rented straight truck with no wardrobe boxes, no tools and no dollie. The movers stated the company had overbooked and they were told to manually perform the move and just get it done. They were told the longer it takes to move our furniture the more hours the company could charge.
The weather conditions for this manual move was 90 degrees and 70 percent humidity. One mover started to experience signs of heat stroke when he was unloading our furniture. This is unethical employee practice.
In order to get the movers to unload the furniture the full payment had to be made. An estimate of the number of hours to unload is used. When the travel time charged was questioned the supervisor threatened to hold our furniture hostage until the next work day. We were told we could take the disputed amount up with their corporate office on Monday.
The supervisor was rude, bullying and definitely not customer oriented.
The only recourse the company affords a customer for complaints is their customer service department. This is some unauthorized person sitting in a cubicle fielding complaints with no authority. They will not give a manager or director's name. Their customer service representative told me they would take my complaint and "throw it out the window" when I questioned their authority.
This company is unethical in employee and customer practices.
