I am the first person to post information about the Kids.com scam here on the complaint.
I have a lot of information for folks who may have been taken in by this scam.
First of all, there is a report online that clearly documents the connection between Kids.com and NTA (National Talent Agency), a group that was put out of business for fraudulent practices by the FTC back in 1999.
I have learned that Kids.com is being investigated by the New York and New Jersey Attorney General's offices. If you are in New York/New Jersey and you have been a victim of the Kids.com scam, send your written complaints to your local Attorney General's office. Also, the New York State Department of Consumer Affairs is investigating this issue as well. Anyone who wants to send a letter of complaint to them should contact Jon Sorenson's office in Albany, New York — the New York State Department of Consumer Affairs can be reached with the help of directory assistance. Ask for Jon Sorenson's address and send him your documentation.
People need to speak out if they've been used by this company, keep their documentation, and leave paper trails. Enough people and we will have our own class action here in New York and New Jersey and then we may get our money back.
The head honcho of Kids.com, in response to the negative press the Minnesota office has received, has complained that our loud voices are "ruining his business."
GOOD. We want con artists like this person out of business and out of New York (and New Jersey). Those of you who are speaking out — keep on doing it because it's working.
