World Wide Van Lines
Lost our whole home load! Beware!

We found World Wide Van Lines online and contacted them for a proposal to move our household items from northern CA to Spring TX. The man that helped us on the phone was very professional and friendly. He warned us of all the rip-off moving companies out there. After talking to him we felt more comfortable with him than the other companies we contacted. Most of the other companies either did not answer the phone and others that did answer, we could not understand their version of English. This is why we chose World Wide Van Lines. We explained to the representative that both of us are disabled and will not be able to help in the move and that we are moving to our children's home while our home was being rebuilt after being certified uninhabitable due to storm and falling tree damage. Our pick up date was July 19, and delivery date of July 25 with a 48 hour window on pick up. We advised the representative that we would have to leave early because we had to drive and only one us could drive. We knew we could not make the drive pulling our travel trailer in only six days as we are not professional drivers. We informed the representative we would have our neighbor unlock for their employees to load and then lock up. This was all ok "No problem". We left a week early to give plenty of time to get to Texas before they did. The 19th came and we got a call from someone who could not speak English telling us they were at the house and ready to load. Great! Right on time. Note we were on the road in New Mexico when we got the call. We finally understood enough of what the man was saying, that he was a sub-contractor sent by World Wide Van Lines to pick up the load as he was in the area. Again, no real problem but it did make us very uncomfortable that now our belongings would be loaded, unloaded and then be transferred to one of World Wide's trucks for the drive to Texas. We did authorize the change. Next, we got another call from a man we could not understand representing himself as Lidor Van Lines saying he was at the scales weighing our load and he was more than doubling the quoted price of the quote because he had to wrap our TV and other items had to be packed in their packing materials and the weight quoted was under stated on the quote. Now, the WWVLs rep told us he grossly over rating the weight of our load because he has been in the business for many years and he didn't want any surprises to us and that they would credit the over estimated weight charges back to our Visa. Now, wait a minute. World Wide Van Lines has included in writing that the packing of our large fragile items such as large TVs etc was included in the proposal. BOOM! The next day. That's when we were told, "Sir, we (Lidor) will be moving your belongings as World Wide Van Lines is just a broker and they do not have trucks nor do they move anything." There is so much more to the story but I am without my computer and trying to do this on my iPad. Here we are at end of day August 11 and no response from Lidor or World Wide Van Lines. Neither one will return our calls. Now Lidor has our phone number blocked. The only away we can call them is thru the operator. When we get Lidor on the phone and they find that is us on the phone trying to get a date of delivery they put us on hold to check with their "dispatch department" and leave us hanging on the phone. Nice, huh? Well, as you can imagine, we are at wits end. What to do next is a mystery.
