We filed and paid with a company check a DBA fictitious name with the State of Florida ($ 60.00)
Florida Incorporator, somehow obtained the information, our name, DBA requested, etc... And sent us a very formal email with a link saying that we should pay $ 150.00 fee to register. Assuming this was a legit obligation we sent an email explaining that we had paid already $ 60.00, with a copy of the check and that therefore we would be sending a check for the difference. They responded immediately saying that we had made the check to the wrong name, they had not received any payment and we should pay on line the $ 150.00 in order to complete the transaction. We did. Same day we found in the mail the DBA certificate approved (one day before) by the State of Florida. We wrote an email to "florida incorporator" asking for a refund. Now nobody replies. Tried to call them on the phone, nobody answers. We got a "nice" email from them congratulating us because they had obtained our DBA. Now we have the same DBA registered twice with the State of Florida and wasted $ 150.00
