Equity Office is a very large company that is in business to take advantage of its tenants, particularly in the retail space. They are dishonest, litigious, untrustworthy and completely out of touch with the realities that their tenants live in. Their expenses are high and they keep rising, their contracts are 80 pages plus to protect themselves and they have no idea how to manage retail.
Every retail tenant is unhappy with their services but are unable to voice their grievances due to fear of retribution. This company is inefficient, big, clumsy and slow. It takes them 6 weeks to approve a menu or 6 months to consider a rent reduction request. They put people out of business and they sue them for breach of lease.
