Ripoff poor installation of car audio denied rufund poor customer service unethical business practices

I purchased over $1,400 worth of car audio equipment and charged it to my Best Buy credit card. A special offer was being giving that week at Best Buy for free installation on all car CD players and no interest financing for 18 months. I also presented a valid coupon for 10% off my car CD player. The 10% off coupon as well as the no interest financing were not given to me by mistake by the cashier who rung up my purchase. I had to return all of the merchandise and re-buy the products in order to have this problem corrected.

A week later the equipment was installed in my car by Best Buy at their location in Dublin. My appointment time was 10am. Upon dropping off my car I asked how long would it take? And, are you going to need any other keys besides the ignition key? They said they would try to have the car done by 6pm and that no other keys were needed besides the ignition key. I left my car to them with the doors unlocked. I returned to Best Buy around 5:30 and asked how everything was going and they were still working on the car. I asked if 6 was still a good time for completion and the employee says the car WILL BE DONE BY 6:30pm. The car was not done and they told me to return in the morning at 11am when they open to pick up the car.

I return at 11am to pick up the car only to find the following: the speakers were installed improperly, the amplifiers were mounted on a carpeted wooden board (the carpet color was not color matched to the carpet in my car) in the trunk which was not the original agreement on where and how it would be installed. The license plate was supposed to have installed on it a product called Dynamat, which prevents the plate from rattling, it was not installed and I had to point out to the employee that it was not done and he had to do it that morning while i waited. As i looked inside the car I found all of their equipment used for the installation laying inside (nuts, screws, wires, a hammer, boxes, etc.) my original equipment that was removed from the car was laying on my seats and floor as well. Finally, I found that both plastic clothing hooks were missing. One I found on the floor (go figure) and the other is still missing. I also found another plastic piece on the floor which i had to find where it came from and put it back in place.

Resolution: I spoke not only to numerous employees but the manager on duty as well about my issues. I wanted a full refund on all installation costs as well as another plastic hook ordered from Pontiac. They said that they would first look for the plastic hook in the car themselves. The manager did not want to give me a refund and said he would give me $100 and fix the speaker installation. Him trying to bargain with me really pissed me off. I ended up getting a full refund on installation and they are also going to fix all issues for free. I also came to find from an employee that he broke into my car during the installation procedure because he locked the doors and the keys in the car! The manager would not issue me a written statement or anything saying they were responsible if I found any problems in the future becauae of a forced break-in. I bent my Best Buy card in half in front of the manager to show he had lost a customer for life. I am on my way right now to speak to the GM.
