Epinions makes money by selling the products that people review. You have to wonder how they deal with poor reviews which don't generate sales and therefore are not in the best interest of Epinions to publicize.
It reminded him of an unfortunate experience with Epinions. About two years ago he wanted to provide a positive review about a car shipping experience. The review was quickly buried, because it failed to feature a company that Epinions wanted to promote. After that, he quickly lost confidence in their advertising scheme review system.
