I found their advertisement from several employment newspapers. I called and they offered an interview right away and told me to bring $60 for registration. I thought they were employment agency. I arrived at their small, humble and somewhat an office (with nothing in it) and right away the receptionist aka secretary aka manager gave me a questionnare and made watch video about fire safety products. Then came Randy (the official "manager") explaining about the company, doing demo on fire safety products and explain about the benefit and the success story of the job that I was gonna get.
After all that the secretary came with more questionare and rushed me to finish it so that other candidates can do the same thing I was doing. Randy brought me to his office and told me that I'm not really qualified for the position because I didn't have fire safety background. And then he said he was willing to give me a chance.
So he asked for the $60 fee. I felt weird but bought his story how it costs money if he has to process every applicant's paperwork and they did'nt show up for work.
He then took the cash and gave another application which was basically a receipt. As I signed it, I noticed a really tiny writing at the top that the $60 was nonrefundable and there's another $95 fee for orientation that's refundable after we finish the course.
THIS IS A TOTAL RIPOFF. How can they take advantage of people that already suffered enough of not having a job and then made them pay that much amount of money for a job that probably was just a typical sales door to door?! This is ridiculous. I felt stupid and asked for my money back but they told me it's nonrefundable and they can't do anything about it. I didn't know about other hidden fee they had.
I don't want anybody to fall for this enraging scam. Please report it if the same guy/company or same type of scam happen to you also.
