Listen up folks. I know the job market sucks, so when you see a job that says "Manager Position, no experience required $15/hour, will train" your eyes perk up don't they? Well mine did, and so did my buddy's. We called the number and were told a little bit about the company and that they sell fire safety products and fire extinguisher's and that the company is exanding it's office's across the northeast. They asked us if we wanted to come in for an interview the next day. My friend went in for the interview, was given a demonstration on the fire extinguisher and then hired to be a manager trainee. He was charged $75 for a background check and then told to start training the next day. He went in on friday and was then charged $95 for a demonstration kit and told that he had to sell $2,000 worth of merchandise before he can complete his training. I went in the next day, and went through the same process except that i had to wait a week to go to my initial training. During the training my buddy would be asking questions about the products, shipping info and procedures because he didn't feel comfortable trying to sell the product without fully understanding it and the managers would get frustrated with him. While my buddy would be at work or "training" i felt this might be a scam and told my brother about it who happened to look it up on the internet. He found reports on usacomplaints.com and told me to check it out. Well, it's Mr. M and his crew, Jamie and Mike Jenkins at it again. We called them and confronted them on the article's, tried to say that they've been there for years and that a buddy of mikes is responsible for the "bogus" negative reports because he was jelous that mike had been successful during the training and he hadn't. That there was a scandle going on in the company about 5 years prior, but the shady people were no longer a part of the business and they were an honest company. Myself having paid the $75 at my initial interview wanted my money back and my buddy had paid them $170. We told him we wanted our money back and that we would be coming up to the new britain office to get it within 20 minutes. We got a phone call just as we were getting close to the office and Mike called us asking him if we'd meet him at the local McDonalds down the street from his office. He did eventually give us our money back and told us how he wished we would stick with the program. At least he gave us our money back once we confronted him with the scam, maybe if you call him he'll give you your money back too... But somehow i don't think he will.
