Last fall we called owens septic service to pump our septic tank for an agreed amount of $350. They set up appointments and then would cancel. Finally, the third time, they said they were comming out to do the service that day. They then called and said they couldn't find us. This was after we were told that they knew exactly where we lived. We waited and waited and the truck finally came down our street, late naturally. The driver looked right at my wife and I standing in the driveway of our house and then he turned the truck around and left. Owens himself then came up to our house about an hour later and said they hadn't been able to find the house. I told him I was done messing with him and that he should leave. He told me he was charging me for a service call and I told him I wouldn't pay it and that he rendered no service to me. He sent the bill for $150 and my wife paid it for fear of a lean on our property. We had talked to a lawyer before she paid and the lawyer said she wouldn't pay it but to expect problems with, at least, our credit rating if we didn't. I guess the moral of the story is that the more crooked you are, the more $ you make and you have more rights than the honest.
