Guardian Protection Services
Misrepresentation and Fraud

Guardian Protection Services Complaint.

In April of My husband and I signed up for Guardian Protection Services. We just rented a new townhome and wanted to have a legit security company. Little did we know that a company who is supposed to give you security actually is the one doing the ripping off.

There were 2 times, one in February that the security system went off. Not ONCE did we get a phone call from Guardian Protection to see if we were ok.in fact, I had to call them to see if they saw that the alarm went off and they informed me that it did not show up that the alarm went off. My husband and I even intentionally set off the alarm and after 30 seconds we shut it off and not one phone call from guardian protection.

All of the sensors on the windows fell off.

After our problems with them, my husband and I decided that we would be moving to be closer to my husbands job. I called them in February to cancel the service. I was told that they would not be able to do so unless I paid off the rest of the contract amount which I did not realize was going to be over $2000. The representative that we had told us in the beginning that we could cancel our contract if we were moving and I was very specific in stating that we were renting a townhome and that we would only be in the home for 2 years. He lied and now we are stuck with 3 more years of payments. We weren't moving out until April so I decided that I would leave it alone until then. I received a disable letter in the mail and asked for the realtors name so they could contact them once we move to transfer the service to the new tenants.

In the middle of March. I received a notice in the mail that our service has been disabled and to renew the service at a special price of $24.95 a month. This was funny because I never sent in the disable letter, so technically we should still have service. When I called the company to inquire about this, the representative said "Oh we thought you moved out, but the service is still enabled" When I asked why they sent the letter, they couldn't give me an answer. I also called the exact extension that was on the note and that person never called me back. Im assuming they thought we moved out so why not try and get someone elses money behind our backs.

In the beginning of April, I spoke to Joy and she emailed me a disable/cancel letter to fill out to disable/cancel service. I sent it right back to her via email. A few weeks later I noticed that I was charged for another month of service.

When I called to ask if they ever disabled the service, I spoke to Daniel, He informed me that the service was disabled but since the contract is for 5 years that I am still going to get charged. So they are charging me for a service that I do not even have anymore??? How can they get away with this?

Guardian Protection failed in providing a quality protection service and did not respond when our security alarm went off multiple times. Why am I paying for a service that does not work? The contract does NOT state that I am liable to pay the difference if I cancel. Daniel confirmed today that the service has been disabled so WHY am I getting billed for a service that IS NOT EVEN ON? My current landlord already has a security system in our new place and we are not allowed to transfer our security system over to our new place. All I am asking is for my account to be cancelled as my service has been cancelled. I can show proof about me being laid off, my new townhome not allowing service protection here, and the letter that shows from Guardian Protection saying that our service has been disabled back in March prior to us cancelling in order to try and sell their service to someone else.
