I called the h/a air conditioning, inc (aka) dba florida air
DUCT CLEANERS based on the information I got from the flyers received by mail to get a the A/C maintenance service offers by 25$. The appointment was made and the technician offers and additional service to get the ducts sanitized due
the risk of mold related health problems. This first offer was for 700$ that I rejected. Then the technician offered the same service for 500$ and a finally offer for 360$, that I accepted.
I went to the ATM to get the money to pay for the service meanwhile the technician performed the job agreed. He told me that only 1 pound was needed and loaded into the Unit and the ducts were sanitized with Microban and the air handler cleaned.
When I complained about the A/C was not cooling at all (This is a 1.000 sq. Ft. Apartment), his answer in a very rude way was: I put the refrigerant and that should be enough, you need to buy a new unit, wait a little bit and it will be cooler, after that he offered me a new one for 3.000$ and left instantly when I told him that it was too expensive for a 2 ton unit
and left me with the problem in the unit and did NOT care about my problem and took the 385$ in cash for the services that I gave him before.
Since the technician rejected to check again, I left the unit working for 5 hours and NEVER cool the air.
Next day I decide to get a second opinion from another company that checked for leaks, electric problems and finally the
FREON/Refrigerant. The findings from the new company were:
1. There were NO leaks
2. The electrical circuits were working fine
3. Three (03) pounds of refrigerant were loaded into the unit to leave it in working condition
This time I stayed and confirm technically the findings of the second company. I am a Mechanical Engineer and definitely know that the findings were real and what was done. The unit started working immediately cooling the entire
apartment in no time after the service provided by second company work.
I called H/A AIR CONDITIONING, INC to report the incident about the service that was NOT performed regarding the refrigerant that was not added but charged, and also the ducts were partially cleaned. There are dirty areas that can be seen from outside without any equipment. I wanted to get part of the money back.
The answer from the company was they will not return any of my money and the best that they can do is send another technician to clean the ducts again.
I want to get a refund for the service that was not performed and the services that were partially done by them. H/A AIR Conditioning LIED to me, did NOT perform the job agreed and the one done was not delivered with quality. H/A Air Conditioning Did NOT take care of my request to revisit the job done and now I have seriously doubts about the quality of the products used.
My errors were:
1. Paid in cash (That was the easiest option for me at that moment),
2. I should have stayed and supervised every task in the job,
3. I should have checked the company reviews on the web and the F category that this company has in BBB and the many consumer complaintss on the web filed against this company
