I hired Thomas Sherwood law office to do a home loan modification for me. I was told it would take 3-4 months to get done. After the 4 month mark, every three to four weeks they would want updated information (income, bills, profit/loss, bank statements) from me. Between month six and seven I started asking what was taking so long and I was told they were getting a slow response from Wells Fargo (my mortgage Company).
I received a sherriff sale notice and called and asked about were they where in the process and I was told that they were still negotiating. I then called another lawyer and was told that they were probaably not going to be able to do anything with the modification due to it going in sheriffs sale already.
After hearing that I called and asked about the notice and expained that I would like my money back since they didn't hold up there end of the deal. I was told that they needed updated info and they would get everything taken care of.
Now month eight I call and ask if everything is taken care of and was told they needed updated information again. I finally snapped and told them no. This was suppose to have been done months ago. They keep asking for updated info as if they are really doing something with it. My home is in foreclosure with sheriff sale in progress and they keep telling me they can still fix with more info. They don't want to admit that they can't get it done as agreed and don't want to refund the money I paid them to save my home.
