My wife and I have been getting staments from this company saying that we owe them $135.00 for one account and $474.24 for another account. I have been trying to figure out what this was but there was no contact number or anything on the bill. I've waited until now over a year, and finally a bill from the collections dept with a phone number.
I called and found out that this was for magazines that my wife suposedly order 2 years ago. Well I told them that we haven't got any in over a year and that we though the subscriptions had expired. Here's the kicker, they told me that we order about 5 different ones (which we never got) and the payment were $24 for 27 months. Thats the most expesive magazine I've ever read! I had also made about 10 payments between me and my wife. We did tell them that we did order 2 of the ones that they said we did and offer to pay for that, but not for the others or the ones that we didn't get.
I though it would be about $50.00 to settel the matter. They informed me that in order to cancel it would cost $299.64. That is outrageous! I still have yet to figure out how they can be so misleading and charge so much for a magazine subsription. Don't buy any subscriptions from North American Readers without getting the whole price and committment you will have to complete, it could be very expensive!!
