Ripoff in the news paper in ad

This was an ad in my local newspaper. $550.00 weekly salary. I called the number in the ad, it was a recording asking for my name and address for more information. They sent me a 1 page letter telling me about themselfs and sent $55. Oo to get started. I sent the money and haven't heard from them since
