After hearing an advertisement on the radio, I called CRN for a free listing of forecloser homes in my area. On 11/26/10, I spoke with operator 3565. He calimed the list was 1.99 and had to be paid before list could be mailed. He asked for debit / credit cardnumber which I provided, since I made the call. He went on to try and get me to sign up for a subscriptionthat I was notinterested in. Operator 3565 said I couldtryit, if not satisfied could cancel within thirty days and no money would be charged.
Three days later, 11/29/10, two charges of 19.95 was withdrawn from my bankacct.By CRN &United Roadside Assurance, a total of 39.90. I had never talked to anybody from this othercompany and never authorize any monies to be taken from my bank account except 1.99. Operator 3565 saidno money would be charged to my debit/credit card unlessI kept the subscription. I did not realize any money had been taken out of myaccount until I received my bank statement in Jan.
I had already canceled the supposely subspriction on 12/20/10 due to not receiving the foreclosure list as promised. The cancellation date was 12/24/10 but was extended to 1/23 for that reason. On 1/3 two more chargesof 19.95 was taken out of my bank accountby each company. I contactedboth companies about the matter, who claimed an investigation would be conducted, but still no money has been returned to my bank. Nothing from either of these companies has been received except the 1.99 foreclosure list. Somebody please help recover my money and put a stop to these rip off companies.
