Do not hire Virginia Dugan to handle your case!
During my initial consultation, Ms. Dugan convinced me she would be the kind of tough attorney I needed to deal with my husband. She also assured me I had a strong case and that my husband would not take advantage of my inexperience in divorce matters. Unfortunately, Ms. Dugan was the one taking advantage of my inexperience, especially after I gave her a $5,000 retainer. From that point on, Ms. Dugan failed to communicate with me about the status of my case and did not answer all my questions and concerns; always seemed unfamiliar with my case; was tardy or completely unresponsive to telephone calls and emails; completely disregarded my instructions on numerous occasions; ran up unnecessary billable hours and expenses while making zero progress in resolving my case; and did not provide me timely advice. My advice... Find another lawyer!
Hiring this law firm (Atkinson & Kelsey, P.A.) to handle my divorce case was the worst experience of my life. I got so fed up with my lawyer (Virginia Dugan) and her poor representation that I had to scrape up enough money to retain a different lawyer. This was no easy task, especially after my husband withdrew all the marital funds from our joint bank accounts without my knowledge or consent. And then when I tried to communicate my disappointment and frustration with Ms. Dugan, I got the brush off from the firm. The services provided by this firm are weak and overpriced. Do yourself a favor and find another law firm!!
