I bought a necklace from Bidz.com. The final bid price was $62.00, but the necklace actually cost $75.14, before tax, because of a buyer's premium and shipping and handling. The amount of these charges are not disclosed until they have already charged your credit card. At that point, there is no way to cancel the transaction.
The necklace was junk. It is the thinnest piece of gold jewelry I've ever seen. I think of it as a cheap lesson in imaginative ripoffs.
In reading other complaint letters, it is apparent that Bidz does not honor their return policies - even after deducting the 15% return charge they impose.
Next time, I'll check the complaint sites first.
