Ripoff on cancellation charges

AT&T Wireless thinks they are above the law. They think they can charge you a disconnect fee even though you never signed any kind of service agreement. They think that because they include in their instruction booklet that you have 30 days to cancel the service if you are not satisfied or incurr a disconnect fee that this amounts to a contract. They also do not think that they have to guarantee you service.

We moved to a new area and AT&T did not provide servive to this area. We paid the bill until we found out that they had no service in our area and then cancelled the service. They are trying to collect a disconnect fee. What a RIPOFF. Who do they think they are? They must be desperate for money to charge a customer for service they admit they cannot provide.

They even said over the phone that it was "our fault" for moving. What a stupid think to say. Two collection accounts have backed out from their collection attempt and now they have sent it to a third collection agency.
And get this, they turned it over to GC Services, one of the worst in the business. This amounts to harrassment at its worst.

They chose to pick on older citizens who have health problems and need adequate cell service. They are certainly desperate for money to do this after over a year and failed collection attempts.
